Learn to Bike
Our learn to bike program helps kids reconnect with that deep sense of confidence that comes with propelling yourself with your own two feet.
Not every kid can ride a bike.
Although the average age when someone learns to bike is 3-7, Arc found that many middle and high schoolers hadn’t learned to ride a bike.
There are lots of reasons: the cost of a bike, the safety of the neighborhood, pandemic skills loss.
So, Arc developed a physical education program designed for grades K-3 to teach kids to bike in a safe, easy, and fun way.
Our three-session course starts with building confidence and balance. We have a fleet of specialty balance bikes that don’t have training wheels (which are especially off-putting for kids who didn’t learn to ride at an “appropriate” age).
We conduct the program on your campus. There’s no bussing, no field trip permission trips, no special space required. We bring everything for your students and can set up on your regular blacktop
We bring everything for your students: safety equipment (helmets, kneepads, elbow pads) and we can set up using just a small amount of space.
By the end of week 3, kids shed their inhibitions and fears and can even navigate an “obstacle course” of safety cones.
Our learn to bike program helps kids reconnect with that deep sense of confidence that comes with propelling yourself with your own two feet.
The benefits are many.
- Confidence and self esteem
- Social and recreational opportunities
- Alternative modes of transportaiton'
- Increased physical activity
