We were thrilled to receive this heartfelt letter from the students who participated in the Morse High School after school program in San Diego!

    Dear arc,

On behalf of Morse High School, we’d like to thank Peter [the arc Site Coordinator at Morse HS] and the arc organization for their sincere efforts to improve our leadership qualities and independence. We’ve learned tremendous skills involving collegiate academics and the unspoken culture and traditions of college life. As prominent juniors and seniors in the clubs we were unaware of the importance of academics looking ahead. We were unaware of how to “crash classes”, register or the importance of speaking to professors. We perceived college loans as undesirable necessities but through careful planning one can strategically use loans in an effective manner. College is college; we no longer feel the social stigma of a two year college compared to a four year university. Adversity no longer frightens us; we embrace obstacles that we confront. Many of us derive from impoverished areas of San Diego and often shunned from societies views of the stereotypical good citizens. Before we joined the clubs we found it difficult to set goals and promote the power of a single voice. Peter has provided the group with the confidence to subdue any problems that may arise and we are very thankful for his time and effort. We are who we are and arc has shaped us into the leaders for the future.

    Sincerely,

    [The Undersigned]
